National Camp on Annular Solar Eclipse

Vigyan Prasar has organized national camp on Annular Solar Eclipse on 25th & 26th December, 2019 at Jansons Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. A total of about 250 VIPNET clubs from all across the country have gathered to witness this rare celestial event. On the first day of the programme, sessions on eclipse, types of eclipses, their occurrence, how to observe them etc. were conducted for the participants. On 26th December 2019 due to the cloudy weather in Coimbatore all the participants were taken 30 km away from the venue towards Pallakkad to view this rare event. Resource material in the form of booklets, DVD, Solar goggles etc. were also given to the participants during the programme.
